Seven of Cups

Seven of Cups

A dark figure stands with an outstretched hand before seven golden cups. Each cup sits nestled in one large cloud in a blue sky. Each cup overflows with a symbolic images: castles, jewels, wreaths, a snake, a bust of a woman, a figure hooded in white and some type dark twisted creature.

Too Many Choices!

This isn’t your average everyday fork in the road. This is a directional choice nightmare.  There are so many choices ahead that the ability to pick one is impossible. However! There is a way to at least narrow down the field.

First things first, throw out anything that’s too good to be true – because those things probably are.

Second, throw out anything that’s just wishful thinking and fancy pipe dreams. If the choice is “someday when I have everything in place….”  I say NAY NAY.

The third thing is to use your lifeline. Yes, call a friend and get some creative brainstorming done to assist in navigation the roads. I can guarantee they can show you some ways around your obstacles that you haven’t thought of yet!

And lastly, remember that this choice nightmare comes when we’ve hit a nice comforting structured plateau. Yes, where we are is nice, we know what to expect and we’re cruising – around in circles while progress passes us by. Meaning? Shake it up. Focus on the steps to take right now to get to that dream of success. Shake off the moss and get moving!

Blessings!

Queen Of Pentacles

Queen of Pentacles

A woman sits alone on a throne. Carvings of  goats, fruit bearing trees, winged beings, and other symbols are visible. The tree above her is heavy with fruit and flowers. The ground beneath her is rich and verdant. She gently holds a single golden pentacle.  A rabbit is in the foreground. Cool blue mountains are in the distance against a golden sky.

It’s good to be the Queen!

The original “Earth Mother” this is a card of nurturing in our homes, families, and tribes. It is also a card of practical energy.  Time to look at the balance between the home, work and spiritual lives – and lovingly adjust if need be.  Sure you can bring home the bacon and fry it up in a pan. When was your last pedicure? Yes, you’ve got the business section of the newspaper memorized. What about the stats for your favorite sport?  Sure you’ve knocked fifteen books on improving your business life. Called Mom or your friends lately? Yeah. Didn’t think so.

The thing about the Earth Mother and “moms” in general, is that they and their lives are invested in you. How about you invest in yourself and show that it wasn’t a waste of time? Take care of yourself (yes and your bank account) and get back to not just being successful. Be happy too!

Blessings!

Temperance – XIV

Temperance

A golden haired winged figure stands pouring water from one golden goblet to another.  Dressed in a white gown, the figure has one foot on land, and one in a stream. A road leads from the stream to the mountains in the far distance on the left. In the mountains, a golden light shines. On the right, green stalks rise from the ground with yellow flowers blooming.

The Temperance Card is right on time with Mercury in Cancer AND Retrograde.  Talk about never saying the right thing when it comes to how you feel!  So what do we do? Pull back, come together and find balance.  And just like last year, it’s not easy.  Whatever you’re working on, keep on keeping on. Don’t make any grand changes, don’t make any snap assumptions. You have to treat it like science:  make one small variable change and track the results. It’s highly possible that whatever you perceive as problems don’t need to be fixed. The instructions are probably translated from six other languages – poorly.

When you ‘re ready to move forward, center, find your balance, then go. You don’t have to be cold or methodical about it. Your emotional feelings are perfectly valid as long as you add a dose of practicality on top. You may have to compromise, and that’s OK too.

Just remember: All work and no play is bad for you – so is all play and no work.  Go play feel, do, dance, sing, pray, work and fly – and keep the balance within you.

Blessings!

Wheel of Fortune – X

Wheel of Fortune

I swear to you that I picked this card from a brand new deck!

NOT MY FAULT! LOL

Modeled after the wheel of the goddess Fortuna, an engraved wheel sits in a blue sky with gray clouds in each corner. The letters on the wheel  “T-A-R-O” and  Hebrew letters ” י-ה-ו-ה,”  (usually transliterated as YHWH (Yahweh)). The symbols on the wheel represent the four elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. The four winged creatures in the corners of the card, represent the symbols of the fixed signs of the Zodiac: Leo, Taurus, Aquarius and Scorpio (The Lion, the Ox, the Man and the Eagle). Each creature peruses an open book. A representation of the god the snake-like Typhon descends on the left side and Anubis is seen rising with the wheel on the right. Above the wheel sits a Sphinx-like half-human attired in an Egyptian-style headdress.

This is the card of roller coaster transformation and reversal of luck.  Prepare to have your world rocked – hard. You can’t control what’s happening. So don’t try to fight it. Something completely random has happened and the Spinning Plate  music has started.  What did I tell you? Pay attention! Don’t try to fight or control it.

You can’t.

You can control how you respond to the madness. When things seem to be spinning out of control, keep your seat belt on and pop some Divine Gravol. Use your head to make the best decisions. Yeah, “find your center’ seems kind of cliché, but it fits here. The center of the wheel  has more stability that the edge. You’re still moving… but the ride’s a bit smoother. Find the place where you can plant your feet or hold on and just go with it.

When the monkeys escape in the circus? Its better to have bananas than a whip to get things back in order. And when things are back in place? When the merry-go-round stops? You’ll find that you’re not Monkey Wrangler #32, anymore. You’re the Ringleader.

Looks like we’re still on the roller coaster! You’re gonna be a winner – if you keep your head, your cool and your lunch down :-)

Blessings!

The Temperance Card is right on time with our seasons and spiritual year.  Right now, it’s all about coming together and finding balance.  Notice, there was no mention of any of that being easy.   It’s time to adjust your mindset as you integrate: your life with someone else’s,  your ideas with others and your spirituality –old or new  – into everyday life.

Whatever you’re working on, keep on keeping on. Don’t make any grand changes, don’t make any snap assumptions. You have to treat it like science:  make one small variable change and track the results. It’s highly possible that whatever it is, it isn’t *that* broken.

When you ‘re ready to move forward, center, find your balance, then go. You don’t have to be cold or methodical about it. Your emotional feelings are perfectly valid as long as you add a dose of practicality on top. You may have to compromise, and that’s OK too.
